Electromagnetism means magnetism from electric currents or magnetism produced by an electric current. Electromagnetism also means interaction of electromagnetic forces or a branch of physics concerned with the interaction of electric and magnetic tools.

Fields generated when charged particles known as electrons are accelerated are known as electromagnetic fields. Electric fields surround electrically charged particles. Magnetic fields are produced due to the charged particles being in motion. The production of electromagnetic fields take place when the velocity of a charged particle changes. The term electromagnetism describes the physics of electromagnetic fields.

Electronic components that make use of the electromagnetic properties of magnetism and inductance are known as electromagnetic components. These include antennas, electromagnetic coils, speakers, and transformers (electrical). These also include, armature (electrical engineering), coil taps, control relays, eddy current brakes, electric motors, electrical steels, hall effect sensors, humbuckers, induction cookers, induction loops, inductors, magnetic amplifiers, magnetic cartridges, magnetic cores, motor controllers, motor soft starters, RFIQin, reed switches, relays, relay logic, saturable reactors, and synchronous condensers.
