The wind power is the harnessed and converted useful form of energy such as electricity generated with the use of wind turbines. Renewable energy includes Wind power, other than Bio-fuels Biomass, Geothermal power, Hydro power, Solar power, Tidal power, and Wave power.

Although wind powered generators produced just over a percent of the electricity used all over the world, the years from the year 2000 to the year 2006 saw the quadrupling of generation of wind power world wide.

Wind powered electricity generated by the conversion of the rotation of turbine blades into electrical current by an electrical generator is the more modern form of wind power available. Wind mill technology, an older technology uses wind energy to turn mechanical machinery for physical work like water pumping and grain crushing. Rural residences or grid-isolated locations are powered by electricity produced by large scale wind farms for large electrical grids and individual turbines.
