Electrical Connectors designed to carry significant amounts of electrical DC or low-frequency AC power are known as Power Connectors. RF connectors carrying large amounts of power are different. Small amounts of power are carried by Signal Connectors.

There are several types. AC Power Plugs include Mains Power Plugs that are used to connect equipment to wall outlets. Larger equipment require Industrial Power Plugs. DC Plugs are also conventional. IEC Connectors are commonly used as Mains Inlet Connectors, and are designed to attach a power cables to appliances. Battery Connectors are also commonly used connectors. Lucar or Blade Connectors are used in cars to connect wiring to electrical components. IEC 309 (BS 4343) also called commando plug and socket are Industrial Power Connectors.

There are several types Personal Computer power supply connectors. Molex connectors are four pin hard disk drive (HDD) connectors. These are also used to power Compact Disc Read Only Memory Drives (CD-ROM Drives), and burners, etc. Four pin Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) connectors are known as Berg Connectors. Sometimes hard drives are also connected by these and carry the same power supply as HDD Connectors. AT Motherboard Connectors consist of two In-Line Connectors.
